PA-70 Honing Paste (PA70) is formulated with several microabrasives and polishing agents, with an average grit of 3 microns. For optimal results, systematically apply the honing paste to a leather wheel. A single application is enough to sharpen 5 to 10 tools. With each use, the wheel’s leather becomes softer and more effective, ensuring perfectly sharp tools.
Using PA-70 Sharpening Paste (PA70)
- Preparing the wheel : If the honing wheel is new, first impregnate it with a light machine oil to give it the correct texture and allow it to absorb the honing paste. In dry climates, it may be necessary to reapply a few drops of oil before using the honing paste.
- Application of the paste :
- Apply a thin bead of PA-70 honing paste (PA70) to the leather honing wheel before starting the machine.
- Turn the honing disc by hand to distribute the paste.
- Start the machine and apply light pressure from the tool to the disc to work the paste into the leather.
- Maintenance : Do not allow the stropping paste to dry on the leather disc. If necessary, add more oil to maintain a good consistency.
With these precautions, your leather honing wheel will remain effective and your tools will remain impeccably sharp.
